Wat kan ik met BI in mijn organisatie?

Business Intelligence (BI) gaat om het verzamelen van informatie over klanten, beslissingsprocessen, concurrenten, markt en trends (algemeen, economisch, cultureel). Die gegevens worden geanalyseerd en gebruikt om betere besluiten te nemen. BI geeft bijvoorbeeld een salesmanager inzicht in de zwakke plekken binnen een verkoopteam. Of de HR-afdeling ontdekt een trend in het ziekteverzuim. BI moet zorgen voor een betere concurrentiepositie. Maar wat is de beste oplossing? Daarover wordt volop gediscussieerd. Sommigen vinden de standaardrapportages uit erp-software (enterprise resource planning) voldoende. BI-software is volgens hen overbodig, tenzij het om een groot bedrijf gaat. Anderen wijzen op het strategische voordeel dat wordt behaald met BI. Analyses maken onbekende verbanden zichtbaar en managementinformatie wordt gekoppeld aan een voorspellend model. Market Overview: Business Intelligence

The BI tools market, incorporating end-user query, reporting, and analysis (EQRA) tools and advanced analytics (AA), is forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 8.8% overall. This represents 8.4% for EQRA and 8.7% for AA. This growth will be driven by the desire to leverage the ever-increasing stores of information that are present in every organization. This will extend over the forecast period to data in unstructured data formats such as email, content management systems, and Web analytics.

Another important need is to become and remain compliant with legalization initiatives from government and industry bodies. For some organizations the growing imperative to use advanced analytics tools and techniques for instance to combat sophisticated cyber crime in the area of fraud might be of interest. But also to achieve the best ROI by knowing more about customer, products, profit and margins (Corporate Performance management).

Employees are demanding better ways of enhancing customer experience, monitoring business and improving strategic planning. In this matter Business Intelligence (BI) can be of major importance of gaining competitive advantage towards competitors. Nieuwe generatie BI Tools – ook voor eindgebruikers?

Dinsdag 22 januari a.s. kunt u vanaf 16.00 de alweer 7e BI Update & Borrel in het Evoluon Eindhoven bijwonen. Op 6 november 2007 presenteerde Norman Manley van Passionned de resultaten van het onderzoek naar de nieuwe generatie BI Tools. Wegens het grote animo en het beperkte aantal deelname plaatsten wordt de presentatie van deze update nogmaals gegeven. Dan vertelt Norman Manley u alles over het nieuwe BI Landschap anno 2008.

Norman Manley geeft u gedurende anderhalf uur een compleet overzicht van de meest kritische functionaliteiten en de toekomstige marktpositie van BI tools, waar ze worden ingezet en waarom. Overigens heeft Norman de overname van BO door SAP evenals die van Cognos door IBM een jaar geleden al voorspelt.
