Emiel van Bockel is Manager Information Services at Centraal Boekhuis (The Netherlands) and a leading expert in Business Intelligence and Data warehousing. He received his Bachelor’s in Information Engineering and Master’s in Management & ICT. Since 1997, Emiel is responsible for many successful Business Intelligence projects.

He implemented one of the world’s first (2006) “Business Intelligence as a service system”, which received the Dutch Business Intelligence Public Award (2007). This award winning online business intelligence system is daily used by over 500 Dutch publishers.

Emiel is a frequently asked speaker at business intelligence seminars. He was keynote speaker at the European TDWI seminar, best speaker at the Computable Business Intelligence seminar and runner up best speaker for the Rittman Mead Business Intelligence Conference and Butler Business Intelligence symposium. He also organized a very innovative seminar with the title “Business Intelligence and Business Architecture in practice”. The very first seminar where a clear and practical intersection between business intelligence, business process management and business architecture was presented.

On occasion, he lectures at academies like the CIO master class Transformation & Innovation, the institute for Information Engineering and the lectorate for Media Technology and Design. He is also the author of several articles like “Enterprise Warehouse Architecture” and “The success behind Business Intelligence”.
